他没有什么期待，第28个诞辰。。。心中少了那么一点年少时的冲动；
之前已有友人booked了说要与他在诞辰前夕共进晚餐（其实是看在他肯定没人约的份山，积点阴德，做做善事:P ），他果然有空，也就OK!
除此之外，其实诞辰前三天，他的那个他，已约了三五知已，为他搞个小聚餐，庆祝庆祝。礼物也到了。
心想，OK啊，小感动，开心。
他的他，在诞辰前夕，必须离开首都，回去工作岗位了。（怪只能怪他的诞辰落在周日咯。）
心想，OK啊，大家都成人了，无需什么海枯石烂，相守至死。。。何况，也已提早庆生了。
真的，心存感激，感觉是幸福的。

来到了前夕，如常上班的一天。。。只是，他的所谓友人，迟迟还未告诉他晚餐的时间，地点；纳闷中，没多想。
下班了，踏进家门，
sms:回家了吗？看一下冰箱吧！
打开门，secret recipe，脸上带笑；傻瓜，哪来的时间去买和藏蛋糕？
打开来看，他喜欢的乳酪味，和他喜欢的巧克力味。
心中一阵暖意，还未来得及品尝，下一则sms进来。。。
去打开小房间。
这个小鬼头，又有什么花样？他心想，其实已兴奋不得了，快步往房间走去。会是什么大礼物吗？哈！

打开房门瞬间。。。
吓，呆，喜，乐，甜，爱。。。
心情写照应是如上，顺序而下，哈！
大家都猜到吧！
他的他，没离开，呆在家，准备了这个sweet惊喜。

拥抱中。。。

it is time for new year resolution again!

did not set any goals in 2010.
since then had been working for 1 year plus now, it is time to set some serious goals and to achieve them in 2011!

1.) complete HO-ship and be a competent MO! and pray hard to get to stay in Klang valley.

2.) decide on future career path! sit down and think, and plan!
if want to specialize, choose now!
wish for some guidance along the way...

3.) start saving! save at least 10% each month!
to hit 5 figure savings!
to earn more money!

4.) to be a trustworthy person (to commit, to care)
to be a good son, brother, friend, and of course Dr.

5.) to gain muscle weight! to stay fit!

6.) to travel overseas at least once

yup, there are a number of serious stuffs to do in coming 2011 it seems,
buck up!
so as to everyone :D
hope to be a great year ahead!

well well well, gotta stay focus as for now...
4 more calls before my vietnam trip with FAMILY!!! yeah~ (of course in between there are the hustles of filling in the logbook, case summary and the dreadful assessment!!!)
and another one more before i finish my current (O&G aka 3rd posting) posting

I dropped it.
Yes, i dropped it today, an urine bag.
I dropped it, onto someone.
I dropped the urine bad, onto someone's head...

It was the last case to go for today's operation in the theatre.
Dr G, the specialist and, Dr Y another specialist and one MO were touching up on the last bit of the surgery.
Dr G requested for catheterisation of the urinary bladder towards the end.

I volunteered to prepare the catherther set.
There i went, trying to open up a plastic bag containing a new, empty urinary bag, perhaps my gym effort paid off, i tore up the plastic bag, a *POP* sound followed...

the few seconds was legendary,
all i can see was the urine bag flew out from the plastic bag away from me, high up in the air, in a projectile motion, half way across the theatre...

*doink* the bag hitted the theatre spot lights up in the ceiling,
and then *piak*... ...
... ... ... IT LANDED...
it landed on someone's head ---> my lovely specialist, Dr G who was sitting right below the spot lights, attending to the patient put in litothomy position (aka with legs spread out and with the doctor sits in between the legs)

The whole theatre went into silent and static mode for few seconds,
my heart stopped, i went expression-less(as told by my MO), still holding on the empty plastic bag...

Dr G: Chan Ern Loy, u know i am the one who is going to assess you right?

and then it bursted into laughter...

OMG...
guess everyone was too tension and stressed up for the past few days, and this unexpected foolish act of me actually enlighten everyone in the theatre >.<

MO: thanks for the good laugh, i was so stressed for the past few days until i wanna jump off the building... next time do come to operation theatre with me more often...LOL~
(omg...i swear i din expect it turned out to be a happy ending...phew~)

I sincerely apologise for the incident Dr G, lucky the urine bag is new, sterile and unused before.
(i even suggested to her to write in to reader's digest for the joke column, i must have been crazy to even say that)

It has indeed been a very long while since the last time i wrote sthg down...
it is already past 11pm and i am oncall tmr, better make this fast :)

well, went to both "Man" movies last week, aka Iron Man2 and Ip Man2...
and went back to ipoh too for Mama's day!!! :D a short but sweet one, isnt it? >.<

After the movie Ip Man2,
My mom said: ooo, this is Ip Man...now only i know, bruce lee's shifu...i was thinking how come so many wat Man wat Man movies lately...
(she was confused with Iron Man and Ip "Man"...haha, somemore both start with letter "I", and end with "2"...)

well, another birthday on the way...

27, what a number... 7yrs away from 20, 3 more to 30!!!
this birthday is special because it marks the first bday i spend in msia after 10yrs overseas...
and also the first bday i started working...
unfortunately, also first bday eve spent w/o friends to sing bday song and bday cake candle blowing session... :(

well, signs into working life!!!
miss students life and celebration :D

Financial planning

4th month into my amateur working life!!!
and finally have to sit down and do some financial plannings...urgh~
car instalment, house rental, phone + internet bill, gym, petrol, toll, food, and tiny tiny expenditures!!! OMG~ never realized it can be so much in TOTAL!!! need a part time job =.= (as if i will have time for that...haha)

KL life is expensive, with so many temptations lurking around...aiks~
i set a goal for myself this week to spend less! Let's reflect back... *hand under chin, trying hard to reflect...reflect...*
CONCLUSION: yep! i think i did quite a good job! went out less at night, thanks to my never ending on calls!
Perhaps should start to cook some simple dishes at home for dinner for budget...less clubbing and drinking (or go out with rich friends and be a parasite...muahahaha~)

Next coming week, 2 calls per week, no off at all, hence should spend less, right Loy? ^.^
Till next next Mon, we shall review!

On leave...and coming to an end

Time flies...
4 months of medical posting is coming to an end, gotta report myself back to hospital on the 16th Dec, last day of my medical posting (basically just to show my pretty face and smile to everyone i see along the way, no work)

Have been having a long leave...
had numerous wild nights outing during first few days of leave in KL...not so appropriate to list down the details here >.<
went to singapore for a short trip, with mommy, and visited bro and sis-in-law, sweet little family gathering...enjoyed it! (with a night out too in spore!!! awesome~)

then went back to KL, short day trip out with friend, and right away i flew to bali for a 3D2N trip!!! Overall, the trip was good! :) hot sun, breezy beach, happening night life!!! >.< (i would have enjoyed it more if I am not down with sorethroat and trizillions of oral ulcers =.=)

and now i am home sweet home, back to ipoh!!! :D
just laze around in the house, doing nothing...cleaned the house, did laundry, mopped the floor, cut the grass...wow, i am a full time housemaid! haha~

counting down, 2 more days and i gotta start work again!!!! OMG~ noooooo...dread for it man...aiks! but gotta face the reality.

what's coming up next?
New posting to a new department for another 4 months, still no idea where on earth i will be posted to...ortho?surgical? please no O&G, i need to take leave on Xmas and New year...please~~~

and i cant decide whether shud i move out from the hospital hostel or not?!?!?
I found a nice place, in Damansara perdana area, offered a room, not too big, but very cozy apartment and i am entitled to use all the facilities, with nicely equipped pantry, fridge, washing machine, dryer etc etc...
but the down side is: i need to travel to and fro everyday, 20mins w/o jam, with toll price of 3.20RM both ways!!! it means, my monthly expenses on accomdation itself includes hostel(compulsory)+rental+petrol+toll= 800-900RM

I need a financial consultant now @.@

My brother's big day!!!

18th October, a very BIG day for my family ^.^
and I was the best man!hehehe~ (gotta drive a BMW >.<)
well, most pictures were posted on my facebook.
over here, I would just post some highlights group pictures.
nothing much to be said, it was a tiring yet happy and glamorous day!!! and a good time to catch up with all the relatives again!

Pre-call depression

once again, i am going to have on call tmr, on a saturday, from 12pm saturday till sunday 12pm...sigh, been a week since i last on call, all those mixed and contradicting feelings coming back again, haunting me.

I start to wonder again, why I put myself in such place, suffering and working like dog and cheap labour, get scoldings every now and then. Why can't I work normally like office hours? What's wrong with going back at 5pm if I get my job done? I am really tired...

I know I am still far from being competent, but I am already trying my best, I am very tired and stressed out too to catch up and keep up.

once again, I am thinking to give up and just quit...sigh...

well, time to go to bed, charge up and prepare mentally, emotionally and physically for the long long day tomorrow.

Look out!

well, yesterday night, after Jacjac persistent invitation >.< i finally drove all the way to Ampang with D to meet her up and we dined in a place called "little genting" highly recommended by jacjac.

and it turned out to be NOT a disappointment :P (worth my drive all the way there,haha~)

We drove up hill and turned into a place halfway called :the look out point, where a handful of restaurants are located. Parking was kind of difficult to get that night, even after paying RM3 to enter =.= (next time should just park outside at the roadside)

we did some exercise climbing some flight of stairs, with some cool shops along the way, and stopped upon this restaurant called "Haven".

It offers a variety of Asian and Western food.

We got ourselves a table at the far end, near the edge where we could get a magnificent view of KL night scene, twin towers and KL tower obsviously stood out of all things.

The food was OK, at least my lamb chop was chewy >.<

Most importantly, we got to chill out and catch up with each other under such a breezy relaxing atmosphere :)

I think we will come back again! ^.^

An amateur HO life

well,it was my 2nd day of working life in a general medical ward, 9C in selayang hospital.
i MUST admit that, student's life is nothing as compared to HO life, especially a fresh HO.
I worked from 630 till 2330 today itself =.=
I am given 8 beds of stable patients to be in charge of on my 2nd day itself, it is good coz I will be able to pick up and adapt much faster :) meanwhile, i must be strong and optimistic to persevere through, in addition being in KL alone without the warmth of family and home :( everything is more difficult.
So guys, appreciate your students life if u are still having, especially for juniors back in CSMU >.<
P/S: today itself i already assisted in a resuscitation, unfortunately the patient didn't survive, the scene and atmosphere is not something i look forward to.
I got stressed up too when come to skills in doing the procedures, i think i suck!!! sigh...i need to catch up real quick to be competent!!!
at the same time i have to re-study all my materials again to brush up on my knowledge!!! OMG~ I don't have time and energy for this :(
lastly, who will do my laundy for me pleaseeeeeee...

A new chapter of life soon

It had been a while since my last post...
Well, I graduated! and least expectedly, I am going to start work SOON, too soon, which is next Monday =.=
I am posted to Hospital Selayang, didn't manage to get my first choice, Ipoh GH.
This means another new environment for me to explore again! A new working place, unfamiliar neighbourhood...huhuhu~ scary???
Initially, was quite reluctant to move again after coming back from ukraine just merely a MONTH! I want to stay back in hometown with my comfy room, somemore a new room! Well, it seems like it is not time yet for me to enjoy such luxury, I have to continue my hostel life for another 2 years now...

I dunno where the hell is selayang, selangor is like a another foreign land to me, never like the traffic there...and never thought i will one day join into the hectic life of KL capital!

Should I look forward to it? I think I should, start building positive aura!!! :D

I am at the park next to the buckingham palace outside Greenpark tube station.
It is 1230pm!
Scorching hot out here.

Me sit on the grass patch, under shady trees, windy breeze, NICE!

Most people around me are sunbathing under the SUN!!! OMG~
It is like they are at the beach, getting a tan.

Now I know how much English are deprived of the sun, still it doesn't make me appreciate the hot sun more; except at the beach >.<

Well, kids are making lots of noise on the other side of the park, bet they are having lots of fun.

Yawn, I should take a nap meanwhile :)

me currently london bound! just came back from chilly edinburgh this morning!
edinburgh was awesome! very post-card beautiful (especially the old town, i stayed in the rock hostel right opposite the caste, strongly recommended! great place!!)
Love the wandering sheeps, cows and horses in the outskirt.
Missed the date with Ms. Loch-ness monster though, she din turn up :( (hehe)

Alright,time to explore more of london today!!!

It was the day when I went out to shoot the video clip for the visit taiwan contest, been hearing about this chocolate bakery shop for some time from Jackjack, finally got the chance to pay a visit! :D

One day trip in Dnipro

Finished my first exam!!! 2 more weeks to my second, meanwhile, made a shopping-cum-makan(feasting) trip to Dnipropetrovsky!!! (a city in the northern side of my place, takes a 9hrs train ride, we took an overnight train ^.^)

We were glad to have Apip and Han to be our host over there!!! thanks people!

We had kebab for breakfast!!! (the roasted beef was good!!!)

Then we headed to a new shopping complex there - Karavan!!! OMG, they have TOPMAN there and it is a evil place... I spent a fortune inside!!! >.<
(well, FYI, it is extremely rare to have such big scale shopping complex here in Ukraine, not even in the capital, only one medium size one found there; but Dnipro has 3 big ones!!! awesome!!! I will appreciate shopping complexes more back in Msia ^.^)

Then we headed to another shopping complex (i mentioned this is gonna be a shopping+makan trip, didn't I >.<) called MOST (pronounced as mosque, means Bridge in russian, coz it is located next to the Danube river!)
We had lunch in this jap restaurant!!! yeah~ I heart jap food!!! :D

Martini-outdoor bar

It is city cafe again, now with a new temporary outdoor summer bar!!! :D with new menu!!! (the owner is so going to pay me for advertising FOC!!! >.<)

The ambience is great! with IKEA-ish design, simple and neat! very cozy too with the cushions and couches, decorated with white curtains.
and thumbs up for the new menu too!
Me and ah boo went for a high tea session and we had ice peach tea for me and hot mocha-chocolate thingie for him, plus a margarita pizza to munch on (cheapest pizza on the menu >.< LoL)

However, the atmosphere inside was so great (minus off the smokers at the neighbouring table) that we dread to leave too soon, hence I asked for the menu again! (isshh, wrong move...haha, spent more but with a happy taste bud!!! :D)

Well, well, it was the highlight of the evening, superb dessert we had!!!
I had a milk-based souffle thingie alongside with fruits like strawberry, kiwi and banana.
Ah Boo had a orgasmic chocolate fondant!!! (strongly recommend!!! give u orgasmic satisfaction of lifetime, but pre-order earlier as it takes some time to be served.

On the same day earlier, went to get these pairs of 'ukrainian dolls', supposedly called Russian doll, "Matriushka", but this versions are ukrainian, since ukrainian gals in their traditional costumes are drawn, hence I came out with the new name >.< .

Got this hand-crafted table clothes too!!! very uniquely ukrainian! :D

Hope my coming London hosts gonna love them!!!
and I think it is time for me to get a Matriushka too before I leave this country in 1 and a half month time :)

It has a Turkish-Arabian like setting, very cozy, particularly love its broccoli soup! :D
They provide shisha too (not for free of course)!
Overall feedback: >80% positive! ^.^

The Buff up Plan!

Finally it is time to put thoughts into serious action!!!
No more classes, I am having study break for the moment, although there will be alot of revision to do, it is also a very good time to put my buff up plan into action! :D

Hence me and some gym go-er friends (who in eager need to buff up too) made a trip to the supermarket and stock up some POWER food!!!

I bought milks (5 L!!!), eggs (30!!!), and alot of yogurts, carbohydate food!!!
We loaded the whole full cart!!!wahahahaha~ and someone smart suggested us to get a whole box of 14kg oranges!!! and I couldn't believe that we agreed!!! :O

I have never bought so much stuffs before, ALL FOOD!!!

Alright, let's anticipate the outcome!!!muahahaha~

Last day of class of my undergraduate life

8th of May!!! the day that signifies the end of my classroom life in university!

well, although there are examS waiting ahead, yet, there are no more classes! NO MORE classes at least for the next few years (or even rest of my life!!!)

Honestly, nothing... ... ... =.=" LoL~ what a disappointed answer isn't it??? But there is really what I feel! to me, it is just a normal process :)
Perhaps because minus off the going to class part, everything else remains the same, hence I don't experience a major change, at least for now.
(wait till I finish my exams and have my graduation, THEN maybe I will have emotional turmoil,haha~)

yeah, me again! :D
will be having a long weekends holidays soon, labour day on friday plus victory day(only applicable to Ukraine, sorry~) on coming Monday! yeah! I am already prematurely set into the holiday mood >.<

My new gym

After my italy and conference trips, i finally resume my gym routine! yeah!
and this time, i switched to a new gym! a new one just behind my hostel! and a posh one! >.<

It has the standard of Msia's Fitness first or California gym, plus it is NEW, which means all the equipments inside are FRESH! (without sweat stink, which was a common scene in my old gym)

I like this current gym because it is too bloody near!!! it is just across a bridge (yeah, my hostel is just next to a park with a river flowing through),and i get to go whenever i want even just for 30mins on a treadmill!!! (it feels so good after a run and sweat it out!)

and I have a BIG mission this time :) I aim to increase my weight from current 64 (gained 1kg in past 10days) to perhaps 70? >.< (or maybe 68) !!! see how it goes!!! :O it is quite unbelievable, even to myself! haha...fingers crossed!

hence, everybody, let's get buffed! at the same time, stay fit and healthy! and HAPPY of course ^.^

Another post on my ex-trip!!!
Well, this time round, we had a breakaway to Amsterdam! Via cologne, Germany! 
Cologne, Germany
We flew in at 6am to cologne airport!!! It was damn bloody early! >.< Luckily, our dear Jackie prepared sushi from home and we had a wonderful sushi breakfast at the central train station before we started our one day trip in cologne!
Maybe we were too tired from lack of sleep (we slept in the Kiev, Ukraine airport the night before and took a 4am flight to cologne), we were basically walking around like zombies, but still we keep the tourist spirit high!!! :D
This is the famous Dom just right outside the central train station.

When you are in Germany, you can never miss sausages! And surprisingly KFC sells hotdogs too at only 1€!!! What are we still waiting for?!?!?! Grab it! Yummy~ ^.^

We even took some “visit cologne 2009” pictures for the tourism poster!!! >.<

After half a day, we were too tired to continue walking and we came out with a brilliant idea, since we had a day pass, we simply hopped onto a bus and let the bus carried us to the last station, and returned to the first station again. We had a good rest and sleep on the way!!! Kekeke…
We caught an evening train to Amsterdam and reached there at midnight. Fortunately, our very nice host we found on couchsurfing were there to welcome us!!! :D and even kind enough to offer us an empty apartment to stay! Yeah! We called it a day and knocked out once we were at the apartment! Finally, some sleep!

Amsterdam, Netherland.
We started the day GREAT by visiting the SEX museum!!! Yeehaaa~
It was an eye-opening experience especially at the animal sex section!!! 0_0

During noon time, we have Oskar to join us from Gothenburg, Sweden!!! (we met during my previous trip there.)
We travelled some distance out of city to the windmills!!! The weather started to turn slightly bad, with drizzles, yet we were enthusiastic!!! >.<
We visited the clog factory first! The clogs inside were so beautiful!!!and so colourful!!!

Each of us bought one pair!!! >.< (yeah right…haha)

Then we dropped by a wooden handicraft shop…actually main purpose is more like to stay away from the chilly and drizzle out there…>.<

Let’s have some snap shots with the magnificent windmills despite the bad weather.

We were sort of hungry, and what can be better than to visit the cheese factory!!! Yummy!!! Lots of different cheese inside for us to try, I love most except those with goat milk, too pungent taste : P (I love mutton but those are too strong for me).

Another highlight of the day, we got to meet a friend of my mom who had been staying in Amsterdam for years!!! Aunt Lin and her bf, Uncle Tony were so hospitable and treated us a feast at this HK restaurant, finger-licking good food! I still miss the prawn dumplings :P

They even volunteered as temporary tour guide and showed us around the red light district!!! How cool it was!!! :D They were travel angels to us indeed! Next time when I visit Amsterdam again, I am offered a place to stay at Aunt Lin’s!!! yeah~ Once again, thanks so much Aunt Lin and Uncle Tony, hope to see you around soon!!!

Another cool thing was I got to meet Joanne, my asean scholar friend back in Singapore, right in Amsterdam itself! She happened to fly in from Budapest (from Singapore at first) after attending a conference there to meet her friend from Greece. We hanged out for an hour or two, caught up with each other, had some real good time!  Pity that we didn’t bring our camera along!

The very next day, we made a tour to the Heineken factory!
We got 2 free beers inside and got an insight of how actually the beer was brewed from barley.

Overall, it was an interesting and fun exploring journey!

We also visited the big slogan of “I Amsterdam” and also walked past the Ann’s House. We walked past the Dam square numerous times.
We smoked marijuana too!!! We took magic mushroom too!!! Aaaahhhh~
Near evening time, we took a train back to Cologne where I spent my birthday eve there!!! Yeah!
I went pub crawl the whole night! Awesome experience!!!
Then, very early next morning at 5am we had to travel to Dortmund and fly back to Kiev, Ukraine. Needless to say, I was totally wasted on the journey home but it was all worth it >.<
I LOVE Cologne, I LOVE Amsterdam! Hehe~

We went for a ballet show!

sorry my dear readers!!! it had been quite some time since i last updated, was kind of busy, just came back last thursday from a medical conference in Kiev, Ukraine.

well well, this post is sort of out dated too, but late better than never! >.<
I have probably mentioned before that i 'used to' give an ukrainian girl chinese tuition here, and both her mom and granny are ballet masters, and the granny was choreographing a ballet show named "chinese legend". She needed some chinese words on the front drop, with a dragon drawn, some words to welcome especially the chinese who attend the show. This family really loves chinses :).

I still remembered I just arrived into the Kiev, Ukraine airport that day in late January, just arriving from Oslo that i got her call in asking me to help her in coming out with some nice sentences for her front drop and it was kind of a last minute thing. I promised and came out with this after a night, well, not too perfect, but I think it is fine >.< (my roommate helped out too!)

The premiere show was during end of February, when i was away in armsterdam, hence i didn't make it, luckily there was a repetition in mid-March. I invited a few friends along and promoted to some others, I enjoyed the show very much! and especially excited to see the 2 lines of chinese characters being portrayed up there on the stage! :D
The mom on the extreme right with her little ballet students in front, and the 2nd from the right is the granny playing a role in the show too! :)

Although it was just a very small part of participation in this great performance, it brought back a lot of fond memories during school times when I got to be in the committee organising a grand performance! I think I really like it and miss it. :)

aahhh...I always fantasize of entering the entertainment business >.< ... don't laugh!!!

Scandinavian breakaway part 2 - Oslo

Well, been a long time since I updated on my Scandinavian breakaway >.< should get it done now!
Ok, we got back to Oslo on Sunday evening itself, and once we reached our host’s place, we got ourselves busy in the kitchen!!! It was CNY eve!!! And our host’s housemates happened to be home that night too, hence we had a big reunion dinner with 6people! :D 3 Swedish, 3 Malaysians (Aldrid, our host’s gf joined us later during the dinner and add up to total 7 people!!!)

The Swedish were very sweet to create a super romantic and cozy atmosphere for a great dinner!  Candles were lit everywhere! And wines were served too… (to go with Chinese food >.<)
We had a great time! Sharing each other stories, life experiences  and they were really satisfied with the food! :D It was really late after when we were done with dinner and washing ups…time for bed! (We have a tight schedule the next day to visit Oslo!)

The next morning, we took off at around 9am and headed to our first destination, the Vigelandsparken (a park basically with its famous human sculptures) which is just a stone thrown away distance from our host’s apartment.


The sculptures were so vividly done!!! Absolutely well done!!! We did a lot of cam-whoring of course (more pictures could be found on my facebook  ) imitating the numerous poses of the sculptures. All the human sculptures were naked, man and woman, old and young. I think the creator of all these was trying to portray the idea of a life cycle, the enormous power life offers, the joy of birth! (personal opinion :P didn’t find out the true reasons behind).

Oh ya, before we took off to the park, I stopped by an ATM machine, was thinking to withdraw some Swedish kronors, happily inserted my BSN atm card, and it NEVER comes out again!!! =.= Oh my holy SHIT!!! It nearly ruined my day!!! Fortunately I was able to buck up and stayed positive that my other Maybank atm card will still work back in Ukraine later, otherwise really have to ‘makan angin’ =.= (updates: it works!!!  so I am still a happy man! Haha)

Alright, let’s get back to track; after we left the park, we headed to the peninsular of Oslo, where most of the museums are located. Our first museum, the Viking ships museum!!! :D

The ships were like a bigger stronger version of ‘sampan’ . They were humongous when we stood right next to it, but the designs were simple and solid. They were 3 ships remain exhibited inside the building. Vikings were pirates basically >.<, they had to be really tough I supposed given the necessity to travel and survive on a Viking ship without shelther for weeks and months!!! There were different type of ships, for combat, transportation or royal coffins >.< .

We then continued to next museum, called the Kon-Tiki museum, named after a raft, exhibited inside. The raft was famous in successfully sailed halfway across the pacific ocean (to an island, forgot the name >.<). There was too an art exhibition with paintings drawn underneath seawater! Cool!

Next to the Kon-tiki museum is the FRAM museum housing another HUGE ship inside which once sailed to and explored the north pole. We didn’t enter this museum, just snapped some pictures at the entrance. >.<

There was a little cruise anchored at the shore behind these museums, which supposedly in warmer time, sail along the coastline between the opera theatre, the city center and here! Unfortunately, it was not operating during our visit.

Hence, we travelled on land by bus to the opera theatre! It is a newly built architecture, famous with its roof top gallery, AND once again the roof top was inaccessible during our winter visit!!! Haha~ >.<

Not much time left, we quickly rushed to the center and roamed around, had a glance at the university, the royal palace, the parliament and the national theatre.

Time to go back to our host place and get our bags!!! Ole (the host’s housemate) was kind enough to walk us to the train station (he walked us out in the morning too) on our way out!!! Sweet~ 
All in all, Oslo has actually more to offer and it was a pity that we didn’t have much time. Besides, if I ever have the chance, I would like to come back to Norway again and experienced the midnight sun and northern light in winter! 

Belated CNY celebration cum gala dinner

well, well, finally I am done with the chacha performance last sunday ^.^
It was not the best performance I did (as from the critics >.<), at least i put up my best, was a little bit too nervous, missed some steps, lost counts etc... (still can't figure out how to twist the body in a better way!)
whatsoever, I am glad it was over and no regrets for such a great experience! thanks to the team and my partnet :D

We had a 6 course dinner too at the same time, but i didn't eat much, partly due to the tension towards the chacha performance >.<

We had an open dance floor after that with DJ playing some hitz songs, had some wines and champagne and rocked our ass off!!! >.<
(in the end we didn't goto class the next day, with permission of course!)

updates: i am sicked after nearly a year!!! damn...the last time i was sick was my last bday! >.<
to me: Get well soon!!! :D

The Scandinavian Breakaway, part 1 – Gothenburg 哥德堡

We flew in to Oslo, Norway from ukraine on Friday evening 23rd January, 2009. It was already midnight when we reached the city center of Oslo from the airport, we found the house of our host in Oslo, Alrid, and we slept in. (We will be coming back on the CNY eve on 25th!)
The next day early in the morning, we took off to Gothenburg, Sweden by a bus journey of 4 hours, reaching there in noon. Only then, our trip started!!! :D
Our host, David was already there at the bus terminal waiting for us!!! I couldn't recognise him at first because he looked so much different from his profile picture on couchsurfing (lot more cuter >.<), luckily he recognised me :) .
We didn't waste much time and followed David back to his apartment on foot. Well, Gothenburg, although is the 2nd largest city in Sweden, basically is a small peaceful little city, maybe because generally Sweden has much more land to offer to her small population. Hence, I was told by David that we could get to all places in the city on foot!

We rested for awhile in his apartment, at the same time David was planning where to bring us around in the city. In the end, we decided to pay a visit to the tourist information center since David confessed that he is a 'tourist' himself actually in his hometown >.< haha~ (I think I will be a 'tourist' too back in my hometown, Ipoh :P )
We took 3 umbrellas out because Gothenburg is famous for her rainy days!

Our first stop is to a fish market! While on the way there, we saw many canals running throughout the city, David explained that because back in the history of Gothenburg, there was once a great fire which burnt down almost the whole city, and to rebuild the city, some Netherlands architects were hired and it was the Dutch style to build canals around the city. Hence, similar canals could be seen in Armsterdam too!

Back to the fish market, it was located inside a triangular building. The market itself is ordinary, but it was the building which was special, because it has a very very old historical background. Well, still we were amazed by all the fresh seafood sold inside the building!!!
(P/S: before the fish market, we actually went to a liquor store to stock up! :D In Sweden, any alcohol above 3.5% couldn't be found in normal stores or supermarkets, ONLY in definite liquor stores! Plus, on saturday, the store operates only till 3pm! And CLOSES on sunday!!! Hence, David suggested to get some now for tonight before it closed. You have to show your ID while purchasing >.<)

The next stop!... ... ... David couldn't decide yet, so he called his friend to find out whether a place famous with handicraft shops was opened on a weekend. Luckily, it was opened! There we went~~

It was in an old square, surrounded with little antique shops, selling different cultural handicrafts and products. Mostly were not opened but still we managed to visit a glass handicrafts shop and a chocolate bakery!!! ^.^ We got some yummy chocolates for our taste buds too!

Then, we continued our way to the sea shore where the famous 'lipstick' building and the Opera theater are located!
Next to the theater was a small port, available for private boats to rent a place and anchor their boats here for weeks or months!

OK, teatime! (we decided to have a light lunch because we are planning to have a feast tonight! ^.^)

We had SALADS!!! you can choose chicken, prawn or tuna! Healthy and delicious!
It was getting late after this, and we needed to do some shopping for the dinner tonight! We were abit late and most of the stores were closing, luckily we managed to get what we wanted after visiting 3 supermarkets!!! ---> we got CRABS! >.< swedish crabs...hehe.

Well, David offered to make us appetizers!!! (the bottom left picture) It was made of bread with on top of it kavia, herrings, and mushroom salad! OMG, was it finger-licking GOOD!!!

The girls were the main chef and cooked the crabs, chickens and broccoli while me stayed to clean up dishes >.< .
We had also Swedish “Semla” (something with marzipan???) as dessert! ( top right picture)

Drama happened half way through the dinner as someone broke the wine glass!!! LoL~ (we had to use a plier instead of a proper clamp for the crabs, haha~ and the drama happened partly due to the plier.)

Cleaning time! Meanwhile, David was busy making us drinks – Swedish vodka with sprite!!!
After a scrumptious meal, we chilled out at the couch, using David's BIG plasma TV screen to go online and chatted with our friends on webcam, since CNY was near! :D

We had a fun time chatting on the cam and chilling out until 11pm plus when David's best friend, Oskar arrived! Then, our last stop of the day--> the club, ParkLane!!! (as David said, every third friday is the pay day in Sweden, thus, on the same Saturday, everyone will be out all night to have fun!!! It is really true, at even 3am I can still see packing crowds along the streets! :O )

We had an AWESOME night! >.<

The next day was a hard day, as most of us were suffering from mild to moderate hang over! LoL~ yet we were strong and determined and carried on with our tour!!! (thanks to David for offering the guide even it was not his best state :P)

We firstly strolled around, walked past the University of Gothenburg, an Asian shop selling different spices and herbs ( take note of the top left picture – Ass in space! How spicy this sauce could be?!?!!? LoL~)

What a post-party day...we even did some morning exercises, climbing up hill to a fort! (which is now used as a function hall) It was worth the sweat as we got the breathtaking panoramic view of Gothenburg :)

We then visited 2 more churches and David's previous apartment (just walked past). We were getting worn out, the post-party syndrome started to kick in. We ended our journey by visiting a supermarket again to grab some stuff for CNY eve dinner in Oslo.

At 3pm, we headed to the bus terminal (w/o David this time, he was knocked out, too tired :) ) and got ready to travel back to Oslo to have a CNY eve dinner with our host and friends.

Overall, a short trip in Gothenburg was really a FUN & AWESOME one, a BIG thank you to David!!! w/o you, Gothenburg won't be as FABULOUS! :D

接下来将要忙着练习一个chacha舞蹈表演，还有一个research在手，还有平时的功课，上健身房，和教补习。生活会很充实吧！（还要玩电脑游戏呢>.<)
meanwhile, will be busy practising for a chacha dance performance in 2 weeks time, and a research presentation to be due in april, plus daily schoolworks, gym, tuition giving; life should be packed! (and a computer game yet to be solved! :P )

Greeting from oslo,norway!!!
I would like to wish everyone a healthy and happy "niu" year!!! :)
I am now in the oslo airport, flying back to kiev,ukraine in one hour time, and there is class waiting for me tomorrow =.=
well, it had been a great 3 days trip in the scandinavians!!!
I love Norwegians and Swedishs!!! :) amd the sceneries here.

发觉成长的路上，所目睹的，所接触的，所闻的；往往越来越惊心动魄。
突然觉得以前的单纯时光好好噢，自己单纯，身边的人与事也单纯。

都不太去想，眼前的漫漫人生路，能怎么走，会怎么走。。。。。。不想，也不敢想。
继续的无知，单纯下去。

这样，或许在成长路上，付出的代价能少些，以换来一丁点的单纯快乐，可以吗？

下个星期一，就是年初一了:)
已经好久好久没在家过新年，没吃团圆饭，没有感染新年的气息了。
还有短短的几个月，我就要衣锦还乡啦！希望明年可以好好的过一个年！^.^
当然啊，新年期间也是与朋友们相聚的好时间！已有数载没见好多朋友了！

而for the moment我这在异乡的新年呢，我选着了一点点的不一样，因为，我将在Oslo,挪威，渡过年除夕！！！>.< 好兴奋哦！希望，一切美好！就如新的一年！

跨年之旅 08/09 Europe trip final part

Day 8
We had a hard time waking up very early after the blast last night, and caught the train from Salzburg to Vienna.
Once we reached Vienna, WY & AY went to check-in in to the Wombat’s hostel just walking distance from the main train station as they couldn’t find a host in Vienna and me & Jackie ‘tumpang’ our luggage there first. We planned to visit our host only in the evening.

Alright, half a day left, we decided to take tram No.1 or No.2 to circle around the Vienna city as suggested by those tourist handouts.

Well, it turned out to be not-too-interesting =.= hehe…well, at least we got to rest inside the tram for 1 hour. >.<

We got off the tram near the shopping street and went into the Swarovski shop since most of us planned to get something inside for our mommies!!! :D
Well, I got a necklace with a swan pendant!!! At 70euro >.< !!! Hope my mom loves it! One reminder here, crystal cannot get in touch with water as it will loose its shininess as I was told by the sales girl in the shop; no wonder the crystals I bought as gifts in Prague last year all lost its shininess according to the feedbacks I got, they must have wet the crystals!!!

As it was getting late, we went back to Wombat’s hostel, grabbed our luggage and headed to the meeting point where Martin, our host was waiting.

Martin was a very NICE host! He shared this exotic apartment with another 4 more people but apparently the rest were back home to celebrate New Year it seemed. This apartment located in a 100year old building, how cool was that?!?!

Martin’s brother happened to drop by for a visit that night too, and 3 of us went to have a beer and chilled out, it was a pleasant night. (his brother’s name was Wolfgang! Cool right?!?!?)

Day9
The next morning, Martin was kind enough to prepare us breakfast!!! I had a local Vienna home breakfast!!! NICE!!! Martin told me they are not used to having ‘warm’ breakfast, as in mainly bread etc, unlike us Chinese, in contrast, have noodles, dimsum etc served warm!

Alright, a long day started! We went to the hostel and met up with WY & AY and headed to our first destination – the Schönbrunn Palace!
We Q-ed up for almost one hour to get in there!
There was an audio-guide provided hence it was an informative and interesting tour.

We were not supposed to take photos inside, but rules are meant to be broken >.<

Next, we rushed to another tourist attractions, the KunstHaus Wien & Hundertwasser Haus.

I love these 2 places, the buildings are so catchy!!! The shops inside sell really really cool and artistic and abstractive stuffs which I love tones!!!
There was even a world famous toilet of art! :D (we were supposed to pay to enter the toilet, but we didn't!!! and we squeezed all the way inside via the autogate, woohoo~)

(and a opera toilet at the subway station next to the national opera theatre >.< )
Lastly, we rushed (yes, we had to keep the time checked!) to our final destination – the opera and orchestra theatre! Meanwhile, we dropped by the Vienna prater to have a photo session!

Unfortunately, the orchestra theatre was having a private show that night, hence we went to the opera theatre instead and a ballet show – “The Nutcracker” was playing that night! Yes!

We managed to get standing tickets at just 3 euros!!! (yes, literally, u have to stand, at the top level gallery, behind all the seats, yet you still can get a pretty good view of the show. Personally, I was satisfied, otherwise u have to pay 10times more to watch it! Another interesting point I noticed there, that you can mark your place! Yes, if you arrived earlier, you can tie your scarf around the railings infront of u, and u booked a standing place!!! Fantastic! :P)

After the show, we went back to Martin’s place and cooked him a dinner! He happily invited his gf and 2 more friends to come over and enjoy the feast! He was delighted. 
Well, we had a nice chat and some drinks, then it was time to do some packing as tomorrow we’ll catch the ICE (intercity express) train back to Frankfurt from where we will fly back to Ukraine, marking the end of THIS Europe trip  .
P/S: we went back to Carsten place for the last night, and to my surprise, he had a new bed!!! For the couch surfers!!! :D and I was the lucky one to conduct the opening ceremony >.<

Day 7
We arrived in Salzburg around noon time, we sms-ed Sarah (our first host in Salzburg who is going to host WY & AY, me n Jackie will goto our host-Florian's place only in the late evening) and she agreed to let us put our luggages at her place first :)
Without wasting much time, we stated our half day trip in Salzburg!!! :D
Salzburg is a small city, under protection of UNESCO. We had a map (offered kindly by Sarah) in hand and explored the city aimlessly at first :P.
We enjoyed the breath-taking sceneries of this small but exotic town, furthermore it was covered with snow on the day of our arrival! Double beauty! ^.^ This town is surrounded with rocky hills, just 500m outside the Sarah's apartment we can already see a rocky cliff wall!
I also just found out that the movie – Sounds of music was actually filmed here, right in Salzburg!!! (although I have never watched this movie, but I know it is well-famous!)

There is a river dividing the old and new town (which is a common sight in most city I suppose, for eg Budapest, and even my hometown, Ipoh :P ). Of course, the sight along the river was even more awesome!!! We spent some time cam-whoring there. At last, after spending much time drooling over the natural beauty of Salzburg, we decided our first stop of our visit – Mozart's residence!!!

Unfortunately, we didn't enter into the Mozart's residence because of the not-so-cheap entrance tickets!!! Well, we still got to snap a picture in front of it :) and spent some € in the souvenirs shop which is BAD :P
The chocolate, called Mozart's ball, is very famous in Austria!!!
Next stop, the old town itself!!! You have to visit the old town and you will know why Salzburg is under UNESCO protection :)
We strolled along the little streets of the old town, and realised it is getting dark soon, hence without wasting much time, we went to visit the cathedral. Well, it was like any other European Cathedral I think :) but I lighted up a candle for blessings inside for 1.5€ :D that made my visit there special! >.<

Then we went to the back of the cathedral, anticipating to have a look at the gigantic chess board! To our disappointment, the ground is covered with snow, so as the chess board; the chess pieces are chained up at the side. We didn't just leave of course without cam-whoring with them to compensate our losses >.<.

Just right above the hilltop in front of us was the fortress, but the girls were too tired to climb up there on foot, and the cable car to go up there cost 30++€ !!! Hence, we gave it up but chose to glance it from afar :P.

Now, dinner time!!! or lunch+dinner since we hadn't eaten for quite some time, we hunted for a good place to treat our stomach for almost 1 hour and finally we found this particular restaurant, and we were glad we went there :).
It was quite crowded, sign of good food! :D nice cozy atmosphere, and of course finger-licking good food!!! I had myself a cup of hot gluewine (the one I had in Munich), and a set of pork knuckle!!! :D a very scrumptious meal!!!

It was time to get back to our host place. We went back to Sarah's apartment, greeted her goodbye and took our (me & jackie's) luggage and headed to Florian's place! We love Florian's apartment, very spacious and we had a room to ourselves! :D Florian is a very cool guy, he immediately jumped into agreement with our suggestion of going out to have a drink with Sarah and WY+AY. Well, what can I say, it turned out to be a blast!!! 6 of us, 2 locals+4 foreigners took the light away in this Irish pub, we had so much fun together and attracted numerous attention towards our table! :D Even Florian and Sarah mentioned that it was the craziest night they have ever had in such a long time >.<

we continued to a club after LOADS of beer in the irish pub and shaked our butt off!!! What a wonderful and awesome night it was!!!
P/S: 2 of us (not me >.<) suffered hang over the next day on the train to Vienna...hahaha)

Day 5
After waking up, we made ourselves some breakfast and getting ready for a walking tour around Munich city! Unfortunately, our host Jeff wasn't feeling well that day, hence Dennea, Michael and us took off without him. Our tour guide that day was Aussie, a very interesting guide I must say, very humorous, the tour would had be much more fun and informative if there were not too many people and not too COLD. Nevertheless, we had fun. ( Aussie mentioned that Munich actually is not a city to be visited during winter, instead it is better to visit till Octoberfest in October (duh~). This is because most memorials in the old town are on the ground; during winter, all of them will be covered underneath the snow and nothing could be seen! Luckily, it still didn't snow when we were there.)

Our first stop is the Karlsplatz, aka Stachus, it is located at one of the 4 gates (north, east, south, west; I can't remember which one :P) leading into the old town.
After some introduction on the history of Munich, we continued our way to the old town and we stopped by this interesting church (the top right hand corner picture)(once again, I forgot the name of it =.=). The church was under renovation, it has 2 towers, the north and south, and the picture shows only the north?(south?whatever) one, which is a few cm taller?(shorter?whatever) than the other.

This church had a very interesting story behind during its construction, because a devil's help was asked in building it. In exchange, the devil requested the church shouldn't have any windows and the architect agreed. However, when the church was done, from inside standing right at the entrance (bottom left most picture), no windows can be seen really, but in fact, they are actually just blocked by rows of pillars. The devil felt cheated and got furious and hence he stumped on the ground of the church, leaving a foot print behind(bottom middle picture), U.S. size 12 as Aussie said >.< . (AY was curious and asked: devil wears shoes? Aussie overheard that and said: Devil wears Prada! LoL~)

Alright, let's move on, we were now back to the square where we came last night after shopping, now we got to see it in the day! We made it on time at 12 noon where the bell started to ring and 4 songs were being played continuously, furthermore, on top of the middle tower, there were live-size statues 'dancing' along with the song! Awesome!

After the songs were all played, we moved on and visited another church (dun ask me, once again, I don't know the name =.= ) and then we came to the beergarden! Munich, the capital of Bavarian state, is well known with its BEER!!! Octoberfest is the world famous event every year held here in Munich, where people will gather in the beergarden, and what do they do? They drink BEER of course! :D No water is to be allowed inside the garden! If you bring along a water bottle, please place it under tha table, not on top! When you are here, only enjoy the beer!!! and maybe some sausages too :) (Jeff told me he set his record during the Octoberfest when he drank 7-8 L of beer one day!!! O_O )

Next, we visited the memorials left during the WWII and Nazism time. (this is where all the memorials are all on the ground, hence if it snows, nothing could be seen!)

The walking tour ended here. We ( 4 of us, Dennea, Michael, and Thomas) continued our trip to the Olympic center!!!

We went back to the apartment approximately 6pm since we need to get ready for the PARTY to night!!! It was new year's eve!!! YES, we went to a club, a very BIG and COOL club – M-park, where buffet was served in the earlier part, and later on it was PARTY time!!! We danced our ass off!!! LoL~ there was even a airbrush tattoo station and of course we got one ourselves! :D When the clock hits 12am, all of us were already outside joining in the count-down fun and fireworks were lighted up! Everyone hugged each other and wished HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! :D Most people there thought we were japanese and tried to greet us in jap, whatever...LoL~ After that, let's continue to party!!!

We left at around 3am and collapsed straight...ZzZ
That's not the end...guess what? We managed to wake up the next morning at 9am and went to the Dachau concentration camp!!! On the New Year Day!!! We were so determined eh??? :P Here it comes:

Day 6
Dachau concentration camp I don't feel like elaborate too much on this, it is depressing! A brief one, this camp was the first camp built up during the Nazis time where initially anti-Nazis politician or activist were kept and later on Jewish, Gypsies and other minority races were kept too and hence the Auchswitz concentration camp (the biggest one) was built near Krakow, Poland (I visited too last year). A lot of mass assassination were carried out here...aiks!!! Depressing~

Anyway, later that day, we joined Jeff and Dennea for a Couchsurfers gathering at night in a restaurant where we stupidly ordered half a DUCK each, yes, half a DUCK each!!! omg...that was a disaster, we couldn't finish them and we took away ^.^ (we continued the feast on the train next day on the way to salzburg...)

Day 4
We left early morning by train from Frankfurt to Munich, the capital of Bavaria. We had to transit a few times along the way because we bought a budget ticket, and it took us longer time, but save €€€! :)

Once we reached Munich main train station, we kept our luggages in the lockers and started our shopping spree!!! weeeee~
It was 30th December, 1 day more to New year, everywhere you see crowds rushing to shop!!! Of course, I joined in the fun too!!! >.<
Within 3 hours, I got myself a ZARA shirt, a ESPRIT jeans and a pair of C&A boots ^.^ I am all satisfied!

After this, we took some time to stroll around, while hunting for food!
The night view in the platz (aka square?) was magnificent.

In the end, we stopped by this restaurant called 'Tokyo' and had a sushi feast!!! Well, it was all you can eat, and we were not losing out >.<
the plates were stacked up sky high within seconds!!! hahaha...oopz
However, it was not the best sushi I would say, but enough to temporarily ease my crave for japanese food!

While we walked out of the restaurant with happily filled stomach, we stumbled upon this 'fireplace' so called The world's largest burn punch event!!! There was this giant fireplace right in the middle, with a bar selling the HOT gluewine (wine+rum+cinnamon) right underneath it, and surrounded with stalls selling sausages and a big crowd!
We were curious, and thus we got ourselves some wines too! :) and I was glad I tried the wine, it was served hot! (during the winter time, a cup of hot drink is much appreciated!!!) I just love the taste of the wine!!! yummy~

We spent some time there and realised it was soon the time to meet up with our host in Munich – a couple, Jeff and Dennea! :) They were from California, wanting to migrate to germany and currently they are still studying.
We went back to the main train station and met up with Jeff in front of Starbucks. He then led us to another restaurant which was used to be a beer cellar, named Augustiner! He was with another bunch of couchsurfers, having their dinner there; since we had ours, we just had some beers and joined in the fun! :)
The place was spacious, we sat inside the underground tunnel used to store big barrels of beers!!! It was a really cool place! Everything is gigantic inside, giant beer barrel, giant glass of beer, giant benches and tables! :D

Finally, after the dinner, we followed Jeff and Dennea back to their cozy studio apartment where we shared the night with another friend, Michael from Texas. :)

跨年之旅 08/09 续 Europe trip part 2

Day 3
We had a good night sleep. :)
We took our own sweet time to wake up and even cooked spaghetti breakfast for Carsten, our host.
Today, he will bring us for a one day trip around Frankfurt city!
On the way out, I saw this squirrel inside the yard of someone's house in the neighbourhood :) I was kinda surprised to see it in a residential area.

First stop, we visited the century old city hall tower and the old town square. I did not expect much from Frankfurt of its historical architecture, as it is more famous as a metropolitan modern city, yet the sights here did not disappoint me. :)

Next stop, we visited a local market! We sort of brought it up that we want to get some baby tomatoes as snacks, and Carsten remembered that, and brought us here! :) It was not an ordinary spot where tourist will go, and I was glad Carsten brought us there. (although we didn't buy our tomatoes in the end as it turned out to be more expensive than in the supermarket.)

Market here is clean and neat, it is very pleasant to stroll around inside, they have everything here! From flowers, freshly coloured vegetables, to spices and meat and chocolates, and even sausages and ham and cheese for sampling!!! just like what u get in a supermarket! :D

We then continued our way to the Zeil tower (a shopping complex actually) where we get to climb to the roof and have a panorama of the city. On the way there, I saw this guy with such a big bunch of air balloons!!! Wonder won't he get lifted up by all these balloons? He must be like moon-walking with defying gravity :P

We also stumbled upon some abstractive 'human' statues, where we didn't waste anytime in cam-whoring :)

We got hungry!!! What's next? FOOD of course!
We went into this cozy little restaurant with a very hospitable owner :)
We had a big plate of variety of sausages (which include the frankfurter sausage inside) and a pork knuckle to share among us, Carsten had a salad (which is quite a big one!!! I was very interested in it but too shy to share some :P )

We also ordered one big jug of dark beer which I supposed can only be found in frankfurt? (because I cant get it anywhere else during the rest of my trip :( ). I love this beer!!! It tasted just like root beer to me...haha~
Now I really miss this beer...

After satisfying our taste buds, we continued our journey to the older side of frankfurt where Carsten showed us several old type of residential buildings (which looked quite new now since after renovated, Germans are really good in their up keeping! ) and also an old church.

Next, Carsten eagerly brought us to this bunker-like building ( which was really used as a bunker during the WW II ) where his studio is located. Inside this building are many small rooms behind 2 very heavy and thick doors, where many underground bands have their own music time. The doors and walls are so thick that they are bullet and even radiation proof!

When we came out of the building, it was already dark. Carsten brought us to have a taste of the Applewine (afphel wine? Forgot the spelling,sorry) famous in frankfurt :)

The bar we went was interesting with very cool interior designs! They have light post, electric wires, road signs as decoration. Of course, the apple wine was awesome too! It is a bit sweet-sour and gassy.
We were told that a famous lady invented the wine, her name is Speierling?
This is her statue stood just outside the bar not far away. :)

After this, me and jackie decided to explore more pubs and bars here where Carsten brought the other 2 girls home.

Interesting incident happened when we tried to get back to Carsten place after some drinks in a lounge. We lost our way and couldn't recall how to walk back from the subway station to Carsten's place. It was already 1am >.<
Honestly, we were quite scared :P since there was no one in sight on the street!!! Luckily, eventually we saw a shop was still lighted up, it was a Kebab shop!!! The Turkish owner was going to close his shop and he didn't hesitate to help us the 2 poor souls; we gave him Carsten's number and he called him up to ask for his house direction. He even offered to drive us back to the house, right to the door step!!! How sweet!!! According to Martin (my Vienna's host), we call such people, Travel Angel :D !!!

跨年之旅 08/09 Europe trip

First of all, let me introduce my travel buddies, from the L: me, Jackie, AY & WY :) . We travelled to Frankfurt, Munich, Salzburg and Vienna. Here we go, hope i can persevere and post up as much as i can!!! enjoy :)

Day 1
Me, WY & AY flew into the frankfurt via Budapest from Kiev on the 27th Dec while Jackie flew from simferopol via istanbul and we met up at the Frankfurt airport on that saturday night.
We then took off to our host house! ( we found Carsten, our host on couchsurfers.com )
He stays 3 stations away from the main train station, we reached his place very late and called it off for a day and went to bed to get enough rest for next day's black forest trip!
Everyone loves Carsten! :) (FYI,he is a vegetarian, a Buddhist and a band guitar player! He is even kind enough to give us his albums as souvenirs!!! thanks yea!)

Day 2
As early as 6am we struggled (not enough sleep, cold winter) our way to the main train station and started our 5 hours journey to Freiburg! (in between we had to transit 4 times since we bought a budget group ticket which is much cheaper!)

Tasty snacks we saw in the main train station!!! too expensive to have one myself :(
We had some power nap along the way, and finally we reached our destination- Freiburg! After consulting the tourist information counter, we didn't waste much time in Freiburg & continued our way up to the hill, to Titisee (cute name!) which is a skiing resort I suppose :)

A lot of wooden handy-craft can be seen here, which are made of the black forest wood?!?
The sceneries in Titisee was breath-taking!!! It is like a fairy tale little town, surrounded by the black forest... for the reason that it is covered with snow makes it more beautiful :)
There is even a lake up on this hill, with the black forest in the background, don't you feel like exclaiming: wahhhhhh~~~ >.< (we all were stunned by the magnificent view)

Alright, I was told that being in Black Forest, 2 food which u cant miss are the Frankfurter ham and the black forest cake!!! and hell ya how would we miss it? Hehehe...
The ham tasted fantastic ( personal opinion :) ) and it is sold cheaper here than other places in germany! It would be the best snack to go with a beer or wine :) ...awww~ I miss the ham.
And next comes the Black forest cake!!!
4 of us each ordered a different cake, there were of course the black forest cake on the top right corner, followed by the choc cake, the blackberry cake and the vanilla+rum cake...all of them were soooo yummy!!! I personally fell for the vanilla+rum cake :)

After a satisfying sweet meal and some sight seeing, we made our way down hill back to the little town, Freiberg. It was quite late and getting very cold by the time we reached there, most shops were already closed. We just strolled around the town and admired the architectures. :)

At around 6pm plus, we hopped onto the train again n there we went, another 5 hours journey back to frankfurt! We collapsed straight after we went back to Carsten's place...zzz

End of europe trip soon

Dear friends,
I am heading back to ukraine next morning by plane...and it will mark a temporary end to my short europe trip!
All in all, the whole experience was awesome!!! i got to meet alot of new friends, and made some great buddies on the way :)
and oh ya, the beers and wines in germany and austria are really good!!!

I will try to post entries on my journey this time!!! :) (fingers crossed)

It was a merry christmas

Thanks everyone for a wonderful 2008 christmas aka the last christmas which I am spending in Ukraine :) !!!
We had a wonderful cocktail party on the eve, thanks to Fariq!!! :D those cocktails were GOOD!!!
On the Christmas day itself (we still have class =.= yesss, Ukraine celebrates her christmas on the 7th of January), after class in the morning, I went for a sweet little christmas dinner with singyee and jackie at this italian restaurant which I had long heard about its good food! Well, it didn't disappoint me!
I had a beef pasta and a squid salad, Jackie had a mixture of chicken and pork with BANANA >.< while singyee had chicken fillet topped with apple flavored sauce (I personally like this very much!). Well, of course the dinner won't be perfect without some liquor, right? :) we had 2 bottles of champagne too!
(In the end, we ordered another seafood pizza after being tempted by the table next to us!hahaha~)
Guess what? We thought there won't be a white christmas this year, but it snowed on the christmas night itself!!! wonderful~ it started snowing when we were on the way to the restaurant and when we walked out of it, the scenery changed into snowy white :) NICE! Christmas won't be perfect without snow, isn't it? :)
At last, of course, you can't miss out the christmas GIFTS!!!

Alright, 2008 is coming to an end, would like to wish everyone here a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!!!

Christmas in 3 more days, and New year in a week time, and here comes 2009!!!
Time really flies, and soon i will be graduating next June, alot more to look forward to after that.
Personally i quite like this festive season or months, from end of December to March: Xmas, then New Year, and followed by Chinese New year, then Valentine, my birthday, mom's birthday etc.
Christmas trees are up!

How are you guys celebrating all these coming festivals? I am fortunate enough to spend my New year in Germany this year, first time in life counting down in a foreign city except Ipoh,Malaysia, Singapore and Simferopol,Ukraine :) excited!!!

Well, as 2008 is coming to an end, it is time for me to list out my 2009 resolutions, to set some goals for me to work towards them, well, but not now :)let me refer back to my 2008's and have some planning in my head first:)

Alright, enjoy and treasure the last few days of 2008, take some time to reflect back on the past 357days, and be thankful to everything we have around us, especially the loved ones.

After my gym on wednesday, I went to do some marketing at the marketplace next to my gym. Meanwhile, i wanted to get some biscuits for my breakfast too as the stock is running dry. (yes, i dont have wantan mee or dimsum as breakfast here :( )
After searching high and low, i cannot find any shops selling biscuits or cookies, only breads. ( I dont want to get bread coz they cant last long, have to consume within 2 days max )
Luckily at last i came upon this little stall at the roadside! :)
Aha~ yes, i should've recalled this stall, it had been here always, just that i have never bought anything from here.
Oooo...there was a LONG queue, nevermind, i am desperate, i need breakfast, just join the line! while Q-ing and waiting, i started to daydream and suddenly there was a lady called out to me:
Young man! are you buying anything too? you are not in the Q, the Q should be here.

WTF! I had been standing at the wrong spot immediately next to the stall for 10 mins at least! now i have to Q up again =.=
As the time passed, I realised I am actually the 'young'(depends how u classified young, here the definition is <30 (>.<) )customer in the line! and all are ladies too! hmmm...haha~whatever, a young fit guy like me can buy cookies also! :P
Anyway, I have always been amazed by the women here how sweet they like to eat! Just look at all the biscuits and cookies and snacks selling here! All are heavily sugars coated! and all this women were buying tonnes and varities of them! I wonder they will get it home for their family and kids OR they will hide in the corner and have a feast all by themselves >.< Have a look, if not all, MOST are obesed!
Hmmm...anyway, perhaps it is just the culture here :) there are hardly thin women above 30 here...
OK, after a long wait, i bought myself 'love letter' with milk fillings (tasty!my favourite!) and this cookies with caramel (first time trying, and trust me, it will really give u a sweet tooth!!!)

Things you see in Ukraine

Yup, there are a few common sights or things you can see all over Ukraine, no matter which city you travel to.
Here are some of the examples:)
Trolleybus!!!
How could you miss a trolleybus ride in ukraine? hehe...but to tell you the truth, so far i had only taken trolleybus less than 5 times! it is toooooo slow and not so hygenic :P
FYI, here in the crimean peninsula, we have the longest trolleybus route (from simferopol to yalta) in the world!
Marshrutka!!!
Yes, another very very very very common (even more common than trolleybus nowadays i suppose) kind of transportation - the infamous Marshrutka!
Basically it is just a small van or small bus (getting bigger over the years, and equipped with auto-doors). It can always amaze you by the number of passengers it can carry at one time, never underestimate it! :P more than 30 people can be squeezed inside even though the capacity maybe 20? You can say it is not bad if it is during winter, mass cuddling keep warm :) BUT if it is during summer?!?!?! OMG, u go and imagine yourself (FYI, some smaller type marshrutka comes with very limited windows, perhaps 1 ontop, 2 on the sides?)

Over the weekends

It is end of the weekends again, and tomorrow is another new week! Let's hope it will be another great week awaiting ahead :D for all of us!
Meanwhile, let's flash back how was my weekends spent :)
(not every details of course, but some of it...*wink*)

On saturday, me, Jackie and singyee went to Metro (again!*gasp*) coz Jackie wanted to get a new camera (which i fully support since this will mean we will have a good camera for our coming europe trip! yeah!)
After browsing through the choices, she decided to get this, SLR semi-pro FujiS5800 which cost less than RM500! (very good deal i think!)

We didn't actually buy it right there BUT we came back later that night after 12pm since there is 10% discount for electronic goods from 0000-0600... =.= yessss, it was kinda psychotic...( n i got a hand mixer too! not because i am so enthusiastic in baking all of a sudden, it is just because I spoiled the mixer on my 2nd attempt in baking brownies...yea yea yea...i know, that's me =.=)

Of course, besides this, we also did some window shopping on the chocolates, and they look really NICE!

Well, on saturday also there was an exhibition on women's health in the hostel, I didn't get the chance to visit all the booths but one:

I find it very catchy and very informative too, on anorexia and bulimia, but I am not going to elaborate on them here :)
All in all, well done girls!!!

It's sunday! I decided to go for a hair cut 2 weeks prior my trip. I asked jackie along since she wanted to look for rechargable batteries for her new PET - the camera.
Well, we didn't manage to buy any batteries with a good price, perhaps we have to go back to METRO...=.=

The saloon i went to was packed during my first visit, while waiting, we decided to drop by this cafe nearby. The cafe turned out to be a pleasant surprise, we never know the ambience inside is such comfortable and cosy :) and it has been there for more than a year just few steps aways from our hostel! Now we know where to hang out during our next chill out session :D

I ordered tea and chicken salad with green peas while jackie had a glass of wine and ceasar salad.

Guess what, dining with us was another family celebrating birthday of the Dad (i supposed), and they started dancing on the floor when th DJ played the musics :)
I would say it was a very pleasant evening.

Finally, I came back for a haircut!!!
I told the hairstylist(barber?) that i want the side,the back and the top to be short,whereas the front part...I havent decided, let's see how it goes :)

Well, in the end, i decided not to cut the fringe too short and keep some length.

Boots fetish?

Haha, don't get me wrong... I just want to get a pair of boots for myself for the last winter in Ukraine.
Well, economically, it is not wise to get a pair now since I'll be going back to M'sia for good next June, I should have got one 5 years back, and worn it for 5 winters and only then it is called worthwhile, right? :P

However, I just can't get it off my mind recently and I can't explain why the urge is there keep haunting me...grrr~~ especially after I met 'him' in a new hypermarket in my small little 'city' last evening.

Ok, first of all, I was called along by Shyam and Jackie to visit this new hypermarket called 'Metro'. I have heard of it some time back but it needs a membership card to enter, remind me of Makro back in M'sia. They got a card from local friend and hence there we go!

Hey, you can even see 2 russian national cars here, the LADA!!! >.<

Fine, I may sound like a fool, but it was such delightful to be able to step into a HYPERMARKET again after so long :) as I have mentioned, the 'city' I live in used to be a small little pathetic place, fortunately it improves since the day I was here.
I feel 'civilized' again in Metro! LoL~

Yes, back to the main point, this is HIM!!!

He fits a few of my criteria I am looking for in buying a pair of boots:-
1.He is simple yet stylish, to me :)
2.He is light!!!
3.He has no wool or fur inside, which mean I can still wear it in hot climate!
4.He has heels... means a taller me...LoL (ok, this is quite irrelevant)

However, 3 remaining factors made me hesitated in getting him home...:(
1.The price!!! approximately 180RM!!! :(((
2.My friend commented that it is not made of leather, but PVC (which I don't really mind)
3.My friend also suggested to get one in Germany during our trip there which may cost less but of better quality.

Therefore, I think I should hold the breathe and wait! :)
and maybe my thirst for it will go off??? (or my mom will read this and quench my thirst! hehehe)

Side note:
I went for a massage today, my 2nd time in Ukraine. I went after my gym since my lumbosacral joint felt painful upon palpation (aka pressing) and my back's stiffness is killing me. It had been like this for weeks.
It was a back+ butt massage...>.<
I am serious, the masseur herself told me that when I asked her to tell me the pricing for different types of massage...hahaha~ butt needs massage??? :P ( alright, undeniably it was quite comfy)
Well, she suggested me to come for few more rounds of massage therapies as my muscles are really stiff!

Let's make brownies

First of all, would like to thank you Mr. Al.M (hahaha,funny abbreviation) for sharing his 'secret recipe' and experience in making this 'event' a successful one! :)
Alright, let's get started!!!
The ingredients needed are surprisingly simple, at least to a person like me whom have never baked anything in his life!
Here are the ingredients:
1 ½ cup flour
¾ cup coco powder
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
half a teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 cup vegetable oil (we used half cup of melted butter with half cup of vegetable oil, BEWARE! cool down the hot melted butter first before adding it in.)

We are supposed to use standard baking measuring cup, but I can't find it, so we just used a normal drinking cup, like this :P

Don't worry, it still works! As long as the proportions are correct :)

Here are the steps:
1.Get ready a baking mold, cover it with baking paper, and spread some oil onto the paper evenly.

2.Prepare a comfortably large container where you can throw in all the ingredients and mix them up with a hand mixer.
3.Break the eggs into a small bowl and stir them up evenly (manually or with a hand mixer)
4.Now, measure the amount of ingredients and pour them into the container accordingly, first flour, then coco powder, then sugar, followed by eggs and oil and lastly the salt and vanilla essence.
5.Mix them well with a hand mixer, for around 3-5 minutes, it should turn out like melted chocolate :P (make sure it is mixed thoroughly, no sight of any flour or powder)

6.Now transfer the well mixed ingredients into the mold.
7.Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180 degree celcius.
8.Place the mold into the oven, it takes 30mins to bake.
9.After 30mins (we took 40mins), leave the mold in the oven for 5-10mins to prevent the brownies from collapsing.
10.And now the brownies are ready!!! :D

Well, isn't it simple? :)

Some other tips, for some amateurs like ME, if you can't find vanilla essence in liquid form, you can replace it with the powder form too!

And we added in small pieces of cashew nuts too into the ingredients to spice it up! :D maybe you can experience with some other extra ingredients too, like some other kinds of nuts.

First time making sushi

Finally made the first step out and tried making sushi!!!
Hereby expressing my gratitude to the 'sushi master' Jackie!!! Arigatou~~~ >.<
Forgot to take the pictures of the final products, so here are the pictures of 'The Making of sushi' ...hehe

Since sushi is from Japan, so we must show our enthusiasm by wearing a T-shirt saying I Love Nippon...LoL...lame~~ (that was not me in the picture if it was not obvious enough :P)

we also tried making 'vege and prawn tempura', although they didn't turn out to be very successful and 'healthy looking', they are DELICIOUS!!!

and i tried making 'teriyaki pork' too!!! muahahaha, and again it didn't turn out exactly teriyaki-ish but it was YUMMY!!! I am serious!!! >.<

alright, as Jackie said, maybe next time we should invest more and add in salmon to our sushi (these are the budget sushi with crabstick,cucumber and egg inside) :)
and we can try making Yoshinoya porkrice too!!! LoL

yup, together with jackie, we hosted a s'porean guy in Crimea, ukraine :)
it is an amazing experience irregardless of some inconvenience in getting him a place to sleep (he shared the room with me & roommate)

he was here for 5 days, we went to sevastopol on sunday together. for the rest of the days, he basically travelled alone to other tourist spots here, as ya know, we have class >.<
although it was already my 3rd time to sevastopol, it was still refreshing to me, because we visited the Khersones, and took a boat ride out into the black sea at Balaclava which i have never been before! :D

KW is a friendly couch surfer, 3 of us bonded immediately and of course we had the most memorable 5 days together.

so, KW, keep in touch and hope to see u in germany in Dec? :)

it was a blast! i had so much fun!!! enjoyed every bit of it...
the making-up session and eventually the meeting-up session with all fellow 'ghosts' and 'monsters' >.<

and actually i enjoyed having those make-ups on me...lol
thanks my groupmates for giving me such a handsome make up...i had compliments! hahaha~

Yesterday was a 'disaster' (oopz, i used the word 'disaster', should be the negative influence from my group).
Of all days, the hostel decided to repaint my unit yesterday and we were asked to clear up the common hall outside my room and also the toilet and bathroom, to let the workers to do their job.
what is wrong with them??? they have 2 long months summer holidays when i was away and the unit is practically empty to do such renovation, yet they chose yesterday!!! =.= $%$^$^%#^$
alright, we did as what we were told and after school yesterday, i returned to a room in total mess...all the renovation jobs are in process ( in a VERY slow momentum, ya know, the style here ). I can bear with such mess for one or 2 days, i taught.
However, things just didn't end there!!!
There was a team of workers from a local internet company came to set up the cables and stuff for my neighbour's room, AND the dunno-whoever-smartass happily drilled into my unit's (my room is inside) main electric cable supply which is hidden in the wall!!!! OMG!!! poof~~ everything went off...... for almost 24 HOURS!!!
yes...the another-smartass-electrician just came after a total of 24 hours to fix the cable, come on, it is just some simple job to reconnect the tiny little wire!!! (FYI, it was the 2nd electrician who fixed it, the 1st one came and had a look and said he cant'd do anything...WTF)

well well, all in all, light is back now FINALLY after a disastrous 24 hours ( and there was no water supply in between for few hours )... had a pretty good experience of living in a refuge camp :)

it was kind of a depressing day for me today, coz to our surprise, Jori left the hospital( probably yesterday evening ), to the orphanage, which means he is discharged, but not back home...:(
hopefully i can still pay u a visit in the orphanage Jori? :)

Jori, how are you today?
Jori is 1 year and a month old, he is an orphan( how could any parents abandon such a beautiful baby boy :( )
he stays in the hospital. I only know he has kidney problems, exact diagnosis was not told and i also know there is an operation planned for him some time in the future.
I wonder who gave him the name? must be the staff in the hospital.
Jori will cry whenever we have to leave him after visited him for a short while, maybe he knows we may not come back to him anymore just like his parents...
Anyway, Jori, i sincerely hope that you will get a new home very soon, one filled with warmth and happiness which you, the little angel deserves. :)

Summer holidays

yup, probably will be my 2nd last summer holidays before i graduate :)
home sweet home on the 4th July, almost 2 weeks plus i have been back in Malaysia (truly Asia...LoL)
well, it is always GOOD to be home :)
the time spent back home so far was great!!! great food u see!!! haha~~
went to KL to meet up with friends, went to tioman, some small gathering with old friends back in ipoh...and of course, precious family moments :D

things wont stop here, actually i am going to Tokyo this coming wednesday, for almost 2 weeks, to attend a medical conference,am looking forward!!! :D

right after that, going to cambodia for a family trip!!! :D
alright,seems like my holiday will be spent fruitfully (>.<)

and i hope the same to those who are having their holidays too!!!

Today,in the midst of the pathetic exams, we had a ball! :D
It was a dinner cum ball thingie mainly organised for the teachers and professors of our uni as a form of gratitude, it was the first one!
and thanks to George, who put in the effort of choreographing the venice waltz and gave us a chance of performing on this evening ball (unfortunately, i didnt get to perform, due to some circumstances which is complicated to explain, in short, i dun have a dance partner last minute-ly, she had to fly back home)

Nevertheless, it was still a great evening which i enjoyed! :D (at least i got to dance with some of the hot girls during the free dancing part at the end *wink*)

During the evening, there were several performances, singing (great songs! one of the girl sang like Faryl Smith from BGT), Tango, slow Waltz, and even kids can dance ballroom dance so well!!!

I am proud that my university can throw out such a grand and nice event, hoping that this will not be the last time! :)
Alright, let's get back the focus onto the exams =.= !

4-days holidays

having a short break...one more day to go...gonna miss it so much.
alright,a small update on what have i done in the past few days.plain fun,no work :P

i had a bbq on thursday :) kindly invited by jackie and friends. but where are the pork? haha~

on friday, i went to sevastopol with JH :) ya, only the pathetic 2 of us since no one else to look for. anyway, it was an awesome trip! i searched online and found out this off-beaten path - balaclava! omg, it was a magnificent view~

here we are in balaclava, we climbed up a small hill. once we reached the top, the scenery of the lagoon bay was breath-taking!
again, it was an Awesome short trip :D

Today,finally went to the dermatologist, because of my increasingly worsening face condition...lots of pimples,big serious pimples! :(
a 10 day treatment course was prescribed...let's see any results :) (have to make own mask from raw ingredients, apparently failed today...yucks!)

went to visit a friend down with chicken pox (yes, cotracting the zoster virus at the age of 26, a little too old for that eh? :P ) in the hospital on 4th March.

the highlight of this visit is not my friend :P ahahaha, he is all well, looking great and healthy minus off the green stains (brilliant green solution) painted all over his face.

it is Yulya i wanted to mention here :D
She is a pretty, smart, brave, independant little baby girl, 1yr n 6 months old, also down with chicken pox, sharing the same room with my friend (ahaha,so my friend will be the temporary nanny,lol)

Nobody has seen her parents before, i mean i have asked my friend and another chicken pox patient in the room, no one knows.
she was all alone by herself, what the?!?! usually at this age, when you are admitted, parents should be accompanying at the side.but not for yulya,hers is not in sight...:(

however, she is a brave and smart girl. :D
she never cries. she is not picky with her food (She ate a lot! :D)
she even knows how to wipe her mouth with tissue paper i handed to her after feeding her drink!!! ( she will even pass me back the tissue paper after wiping, how smart!!! )

i gave her my wrist band to play with...expecting i will have a hard time to get it back after that (coz i have experienced b4, neva give sthg valuable to a baby, u will not get it back without ending up with the baby crying :P )anyway, i still 'gave' it to her, to make her happy :) apparently she liked it, and she even put it onto her wrist herself too :)
this is not all yet,to my surprise, she RETURNED it to me willingly in the end after enough playing with it.... awww~~~ u are so adorable, Yulya.

finally the noodle (aka 'ban mian') which we bought in kharkov went down into our stomach (> <,)

on the night itself, my lovely groupmates+chew+JH threw out a potluck bday dinner for me :D it was GREAT!!!

today is 'nian chu yi', aka first day of chinese new year!!! :) the year of rat, the start of a new cycle again...
sorry guys for not updating lately...after the egypt trip, new semester started with a hectic subject-forensic medicine. it was interesting though, got to do autopsy on a 21y/o male corpse died of suicidal hanging (felt sad for him dying at such a young age). anyway, i cut his ribs! :P incised his numerous inner organs~~
about my egypt trip, 8 out 0f 10 i would say :P it was nice but not perfect,haha. anyway, seeing the pyramids was a great experience! and the deserts!
i will update more on the trip if possible in later posts.

Last night we had steamboat for cny eve :) bought prawns!!!

yeah~ first time in ukraine as you know, prawns are royal food here.ahahaha~ pathetic 12 pieces cost me 20++ grievens. anyway, it is new year, once a year, and we just persuaded ourselves in buying the prawns :)

and tonight we will have another grand dinner, inviting more friends over :D and of course more food!!! hehehe~

i have always wanted to upload a photo of my gym which i have been going for nearly one year, here it is :)

not a very big one like california fitness in msia, well, good enough :) (not cheap ok!)

yup, going to explore one of the earliest civilisation on earth this coming Friday, on a 9 nights trip!!! :D

Checking in to a hotel in Hurgada, a city by the red sea. There will be beach, sea and sun! YES! it is even more precious to experience them when it is winter over here!

Of course, finally going to see the famous pyramids!!! :D

grr...blame on the system here, oral exam, 3 groups per day, and my group's number is kinda far behind, so scheduled till next Mon!
yea, there is pros and cons... more time to study for me... (hidden meaning=> longer time of torturing @_@ )
but then some people are already leaving for their holiday trips either tonight or tomorrow!!! grrrr~~

as for mine...it is a blast... ... headache! =.=

haha,ya, partied till kinda late on the eve till 4am and made phone calls back home (yup, i am a good kid!) before i went and collapse onto my bed.

and this 'morning' (errmm, it was 1pm to be exact)woke up with headache! what a great start of new year =.= probably it was the alcohol from last night or the late night sleep or what-so-ever. Anyway, trying to adapt back to the current time and space now...getting better :D

yup, feeling better now, that's why i can post this entry! and more interestingly, i have to complete a patient's case history report now to be handed in by tomorrow, told you, what a great start for new year! i will be a 'great student' for the rest of the year 0.0 ...

the gift exchange session took quite a while though, thus not much time for games, but it is O...K... we had superb FOOD! nothing is unforgivable with such great yummy food! LoL~

finally after one month of effort, our hard work was put on stage last saturday :D !
although with some hoo-ha here and there before the dance (with the stage director and organiser of the musical festival) and during the dance (yea, maybe it is a first time thingy, anxiety kicked in!)...overall i think it is a job well done! :D heard that? partner and dancers, great job!!!
the feedbacks were good, at least...akakaka (>.<)

a brief one on Kharkov

yup,went to Kharkov last weekend...
was actually sicked days before the trip, anyway, heck, bought the train tix, not gng to waste it, with panadols and flu pills in the bag, i hopped on the train & here we go...

reached on sat morning, checked into a hotel recommender by a friend which is supposed to be 'cheap' turned out to be 100gr more 0_0 !!! damn, heck, not going to freeze myself with all the bags to search for other option, checked in.

not wasting much time,we headed off to the market, with the main purpose of visiting the vietnamese market within. (yup,lots of vietnames there, dun ask me why, gotta read up on the history, then i will tell ya)

after some hide and seek, and asking for directions, we found it! there is also a cafe next to it...selling Vietnamese and chinese food!!! XD yea~~

treated myself with some kuay teow...

and half way eating,chew noticed neighbouring tables are having some white milky drinks,his eyes shined...could it be soya milk?!?! and to our pleasant surprise, YES, there are soya milk sold here...we had 2 big cups and even filled in our water bottle to take away some...LoL~

after the feast,we went 'marketing'...haha, keeping CNY in mind, we bought kinda lots of raw ingredients (^^,)V we are gng to have a feast during coming CNY!!! (FYI,we could hardly get 'chinese' stuff over here at my place,so it is good chance to shop in kharkov and store up!)

after spending half a day at the market,we quickily rushed back to the hotel to place our heavy shopping bags, and off we went to the centre then.it is getting dark very fast during winter, when we got off from the metro station, we were already greeted by the sunset...

i was quite lost at that moment as in which way to take to goto the 'shopping street'. anyway, we picked a street and started walking...n walk n walk n walk. nothing much impressive, kinda quiet actually on the street, started to doubt whether we picked the right way, decided to call to a friend who is very familiar with this city, double-checked with him...a park? checked; a statue? checked; eh? then we should be on the right street then...a lot more distance to cover? ok...let's continue walking then

...DAMN, wat a BAD BAD decision...we got LOST...in some outskirt kind of place...with temperature of -10 degree C!!! n the killing wind~~~ we just haled a bus n hopped on it and it took us to a even further residential area, at least we saved ourselves being frozen to death outside in the cold. anyhow, we took another bus back at the terminal stop back to center and searched desperately for the nearest metro station, rushed back to hotel...and collapsed~ ZzZ

yup,i am going away for a short weekend trip to another city in ukraine, Kharkov, which is about 8 hours train journey from the pathetic little town i base in.

just wanna unwind a little, get away from all the hustle bustle here... although it will be much colder up north, i shall be prepared for that :)

and not forgetting Christmas is around the corner!!! :D yup, a good chance to do some christmas gifts shopping in the 2nd largest city in ukraine.

meanwhile,i should settle everything that needs to be done before i take off on friday night! :) yeepee~~

what more surprising is later on he brought out some packets and boxes,and started distributing us these:

a name card telling where u shud approach to do a HIV test

cool eh? i mean ya i used to get free pamphlets, brochures, ribbons or batches on such day, but it is the first time i got free condoms!!! akakaka~~
nevertheless, of course, the main point about this post is not about the condoms :P ,
being a future doctor, i should play a part in promoting AIDS-awareness among u guys readers :)
AIDS can usually be transmitted with shared needles among drug addicts, blood contact for hospital personnels and lastly SEX.
yup, sex is good, but SAFE sex is even better!!! :)
maybe u will think now "nah...it wont happen to me; or i am still a virgin...bla bla bla..." but u never know, when it really happens, please remember, play SAFE!
SAFE sex does not only prevent u from getting AIDS (almost 100%), and also many other venereal( aka sexually transmitted) diseases, n also unwanted pregnancies and abortions that follow then.
ok ok...now i sound like some naggy-promote safe sex-lecturer =.=

anyhow, just remember to think twice and be prepared, u will never know...ok?

there was this one day,we were waiting for the bus at the so called bus-stop (actually juz the roadside where people usually stand and wait for buses), not far from our hostel.

my roommate told me that along this road itself there was a fight between the locals and foreigners(aka malaysian indians) some day ago... not really a fight actually, it is more of a bullying session by the local drunken kiddos. it is a 15 locals vs 10 foreigners situation...

then this sudden 'inspiration' came into my mind n i said...if only it was 18 chinese, sure they won't lose in the fight, even against a hundred of opponents!

my roommate was puzzled...why huh???
because they are the 十八铜人!!! (aka the eighteen bronze martial monks from Shao-lin temple) LoLz~~

he just show me this face (=.=) ... ...

and i just cant stop laughing to my own impromptu joke... ahahahaha~~ 0_o
